Therapist website design that builds trust before the first call

When someone is already anxious, your site has to earn trust quietly. We explain your qualifications clearly, reassure vulnerable visitors, and make the first enquiry feel safe.

Do I need a site beyond a directory?

I'm listed on the Counselling Directory and Psychology Today, do I need my own website?

A directory listing helps people find you, but it puts you on a page beside dozens of other therapists and lets the platform set the tone. Your own website is where trust is really built: it's the calm, personal space to explain your training, the modalities you offer and what a first session feels like, the reassurance someone needs before they pick up the phone. It also ranks for "counsellor [town]" searches and sends enquiries straight to you. Keep the directories; just don't let them be the only place people can get to know you.

What a therapy website needs

What a counsellor's website really needs

Not a clinical brochure, a warm, clear site that helps someone decide, quietly, that you're the right person to talk to.

  • Clarity on your qualifications

Your training, accreditations and the therapies you offer, set out clearly, so visitors trust your expertise without having to ask.

  • Reassurance for vulnerable visitors

Calm design and honest, gentle copy that meets people where they are and makes reaching out feel safe rather than daunting.

  • An easy, private enquiry

A simple, confidential enquiry path, no pushy forms, just a clear next step for someone who's ready to talk.

  • A calm, accessible feel

Readable type, gentle pace and accessible contrast, so the site feels reassuring on any device and to any visitor.

  • Found by people nearby

Pages built to rank for "counsellor" and "therapist" searches in your town, so the people who need you can find you.

  • Yours to update

Built so you can change your fees, availability and words yourself , full control, no developer on call.

A real therapist's site

How we evolved Kelly Gomm Counselling's website

Kelly Gomm Counselling already had a site with a strong foundation, but came to us to improve its clarity, consistency and flexibility as her practice grew. We refined and restructured the content into a clearer client journey, better hierarchy, warmer messaging, and rebuilt it so Kelly can manage and update everything herself.

The result is a more confident, reassuring site that's easier to navigate for people who may be feeling vulnerable, and one Kelly runs independently. It is the same web design for therapists care we would bring to your practice.

How we build your therapy website

A calm, collaborative process. Most sites go live within one to three weeks of signing off the brief.

  1. 01

    Brief & structure

We talk through how you work, who you help and what a new client needs to feel, then shape a clear, reassuring journey through the site.

  2. 02

    Design & build

Calm layouts for your sign-off, then a WordPress build with a simple enquiry step, tested to feel gentle and accessible on any device.

  3. 03

    Launch & handover

We go live and hand over full access and training, so you can update fees, availability and words yourself. The site is yours.

Questions from counsellors & therapists

The questions we hear most before a therapy website starts.

Do you specialise in websites for therapists?

We're a general Nottingham design studio, not a therapy-only shop , but we've designed and built for the field, including Kelly Gomm Counselling. You get a studio that understands calm, trust-led design for people-first practices, across branding, web and print.

Can you make the site feel reassuring rather than clinical?

Yes, that's the heart of it. We use calm design, gentle pace and honest, warm copy so someone who may be feeling vulnerable feels safe reaching out, not sold to.

Will it explain my qualifications and therapy types clearly?

Yes. We structure your training, accreditations and the modalities you offer so visitors can quickly trust your expertise and understand whether you're the right fit for them.

How much does a therapist's website cost?

From £750 for a one-page site, then £500 for each additional page, so a practice site with separate pages for your services is quoted on page count. You get a fixed quote before any work starts.

Can I update it myself afterwards?

Yes. We build on WordPress and hand over full access and training, Kelly Gomm uses our website management service but also has the option to manage her own site independently, and you can too.

Do you only work with therapists near Nottingham?

No. We're a Nottingham studio working with counsellors and therapists across the UK - briefs, design reviews and handover all run remotely.
